Pikesville Staple Backfin Restaurant Closes

IN THE NEWS: WJZ.com's Ron Matz reports the Sept. 12 closing of Pikesville's historic Backfin Restaurant. Owners Sharon and Tony Thomas are retiring. ... An Inner Harbor hotel owner has sued seafood restaurant McCormick & Schmick's, alleging the eatery's owners violated terms of its lease agreement by opening M&S Grill restaurant one mile away, the Baltimore Business Journal reports. MJ Harbor Hotel LLC, the corporate parent of Pier 5 hotel where McCormick is located, filed a lawsuit July 31 in Baltimore City Circuit Court against the restaurant's parent company, McCormick and Schmick Restaurant Corp.
